"Frosty Milky Way" was born from a particularly harsh winter in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, where the snowpack refused to melt even as the Milky Way began its spring ascent. The hike to this high-altitude lake involved navigating deep drifts and icy trails, but the reward was a view rarely seen: the galactic core shimmering above a landscape still locked in winter’s grip. The crystal-clear mountain air provides a window into the stars that feels almost close enough to touch, while the icy reflections in the lake add a layer of symmetry to the vastness of space.
